- Wash and soak the millet and dal together for 30mins.
- Place a pressure cooker in the stove. Switch on the flame. Add soaked millet, dal, salt, 1 tsp ghee and water. Mix well, cover and cook for 3 whistles.
- Open the lid once the pressure goes off.
- In a sautepan add the remaining ghee. Once the ghee gets heat, keep the flame in medium and add cumin seeds, pepper, asafoetida, curry leaves, ginger and cashewnuts. Fry it till cashews turns light brown colour.
- Add this fried mixture to the cooked millet and mix well by adding some coriander leaves. If needed you can add extra ghee. Check for salt. Now it's ready to serve.
