This cake is actually known as Zwetschgendatschi in Bavaria, where it is most popular. Roughly translated from Bavarian to German, it would be called Pflaumenkuchen or plum cake in English. BUT Zwetschgen aren't ordinary plums, a Datschi isn't really a Kuchen, and a Kuchen is most definitely not a cake! Or at least not a tall, spongy cake – it's flatter.

Instructions to make Plum cake:
  1. Soak nuts and tutti frutti in rum for 4-5 days
  2. Seive all purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda.
  3. Mix all dry ingredients in wet ingredients
  4. If batter does not turns smooth then add some water to make even.
  5. Bake for 25 minutes at 180c

BUT Zwetschgen aren't ordinary plums, a Datschi isn't really a Kuchen, and a Kuchen is most definitely not a cake! Or at least not a tall, spongy cake – it's flatter.
