  2. Reduce the heat to where it's barely on and add the wine. Let it stand like this for at least 20 minutes, but it can go for a few hours if need be. Just make sure that it doesn't reach a full simmer. And whatever you do, do not let it boil. If you let it boil, the alcohol burns off.
  3. Strain and serve in festive Christmas mugs!
