- Make ready 1/2 cup sugar
- Get 1/2 cup water
- Take 1/8 tsp cardamom powder
- Take 10-12 strands saffron
- Make ready 1-2 pinch nutmeg powder
- Prepare 1 tbsp mixed dry fruits powder (almonds and cashew nuts)

Instructions to make Loose Mohanthal:
- Take ghee & milk in a small pan. Allow it come to boil.Once it boils switch off flame.In a separate bowl take coarsely ground gram flour (besan).Pour the prepared ghee-milk mixture in centre of flour by creating a pit.Don't mix at the moment. Just cover it with flour from top and sides.Cover it with a plate & allow to rest for 10-15 min.
- After 15 min mix besan with a spoon. And then make crumbly texture using hands & sieve through the siever.keep aside.
- Now heat ghee in a kadhai/pan. Add prepared besan in it. Cook for 8-10 min on low flame till nice golden brown colour.
- Meanwhile prepare sugar syrup by adding sugar & water in a pan. Switch on flame on high & allow it come to boil. Add cardamom powder, saffron,nutmeg powder. Once it starts to boil lower flame, mix well & cook for 7-8 min on low flame.After 7-8 min the syrup will become thick & sticky. Switch off flame.
- Add prepared syrup to the cooked gram flour mixture, switch off flame & mix for 3-4 min.
- Add dry fruit powder and mix well.If required switch on flame & cook for 3-4 min till halwa consistency. - Switch off flame. Once loose mohanthal cools down it will become thick.add poppy seeds and mix well.
- Delicious loose mohanthal is ready to be serve. Garnish with some pista flakes and relish.
