The ingredients needed to make Sultani Dal:
  1. Get 2 cup arhar dal
  2. Get 10 Cloves
  3. Make ready as needed green cardamon
  4. Get 1 bowl milk
  5. Get 1 bowl curd
  6. Get 150 gm fresh cream
  7. Take 2 betal leaves
  8. Get 1 tsp Whole jeera/cumin
  9. Take 7-8 garlic cloves
  10. Get to taste red Chilli powder
  11. Prepare 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  12. Get to taste Ghee and salt
  13. Prepare 2 Green chilli
  14. Get as needed Coriander leaves
  15. Take as needed Charcoal
  16. Make ready as needed Saffron soak in milk
Instructions to make Sultani Dal:
  1. First pre soak the ahar dal over nite. Now in a pressure cooker add the dal red Chile and turmeric powder little salt and pressure cook it. The amount of water added should not be more. When the dal is cooked. Just smash them.
  2. Now in a bowl mix the milk, curd and fresh cream. Make a paste of the clove and choti elachi. And soak the saffron in the milk. Take a charcoal and put it on a gas oven and let it heat
  3. Now in the same pressure cooker add the mixture of milk, the powder masala and saffron. Now place a betal leaf on the dal add the charcoal. Add ghee to it. Just cover it with the lid. Keep it for 8-10 min till the smoky flavour is absorbed in the dal.
  4. For the tadkra in a pan put 2 tbsp of ghee add whole jeera and finely chopped garlic. Let the garlic turn brown. Now pour the same on the dal. Add salt to taste. Garnish it with chopped green chiles and mint leaves.
